Dr Anna Roby
I am a chartered clinical psychologist with the British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered. I have a BSc in Anthropology, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, a Masters in Applied Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Aside from private practice I have worked as a senior clinical psychologist in both The National Health Service (NHS) and social care settings with children and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties. I have previously set up services and pathways for children adopted and their families. Additionally I've helped design psychological support for social workers and police colleagues across Greater Manchester who work to keep children safe from exploitation. I currently work as a Principal Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead in the NHS for an innovative new service meeting the needs of children in care and care leavers.
I have worked with children, adolescents and families across the age range. I have completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Practice (level 1 and 2), Therapeutic Parent training, Video Interaction Guidance, Yoga Nidra Training and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR - adult and child).
In private practice I provide assessments and therapeutic support to children and families presenting with anxiety, low mood, bereavement and loss, trauma and relational difficulties. I also complete comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents presenting with psychological issues around attachment, impact of trauma, loss, mental health and sexualised behaviour concerns.
Outside of work I enjoy dog walks, cycling, running, swimming, Yoga and catching up with friends and family.
