As well as working for Nurture Psychology, I am currently a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead for Lancashire's specialist service for children looked after, adopted and subject to SGO. I have 10 years post-qualification experience supporting families where a children have experienced early loss and trauma, who can sometimes be rejecting or struggle to let their adults take a lead. I have worked in specialist services for children with Learning Disability and autism and has been part of a team completing autism diagnostic assessments. I have also set up a specialist psychology service within child and youth justice services and work day to day across NHS and Local Authority services.
I am trained to Level 2 in Theraplay® and have accessed specialist supervision. I am trained to level 2 in DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) and am currently enrolled in the practicum and receiving specialist supervision. I have completed level 1 training in BUSS (Building Underdeveloped Sensory Systems).
I specialise in creating and delivering individual and bespoke training, providing consultation to professionals and working directly with children.
I have published research relating to child disability, sleep and the relationship between genes and behaviour.
